Mini Canvas Workshop

Hiya,

We are having a Christmas Extravaganza day at Sparkle Dreams in Swindon on Saturday 15th December from 11am-3pm.

There will be demos all day along with makes and takes and big offers on too plus mince pies & cupcakes : )

I will playing with Mixed Media supplies all day and also have a little taster class if you fancy giving it a go at 12.30pm. We will be making teeny canvases like this. (the easel comes with the canvas)

 

It's just £5 per head for the mini workshop and that includes all your materials and you'll have a mini piece of art to take away with you. The class will last about 30mins.
And you don't have to make a Christmas canvas. There will be examples with a little house and a heart too or you can just do your own thing : )

Solance and Sandie will also be there demo-ing scrapbooking and using Tim Holtz distressing techniques if you fancy stopping by.

Free refreshments all day, all ages welcome, beginners or advanced.

Cute as a Candy Cane

I can't believe it's been so long since I last blogged here.
We've gone straight from a crazy busy summer straight in to a crazy busy Autumn. No complaints, just busy : )

As we are heading towards Christmas now I just wanted to share with you how pretty the candy canes look all made up.

These are the seasonal red and white in mint flavour.
All the candy canes come with tags tied on with pretty bows and the great thing is, you can have whatever wording you would like printed. That means they can be suitable for any occasion, not just for weddings.

I personally love the pink canes. These are fruity and look so pretty. We also have them in brown/cola, lilac/cherry and orange and yellow/citrus. The printing and ribbons can be in any colours you choose.

 

They are a really fun addition to any table. There is no minimum order, so if you just want a few made up as cute place settings for your Christmas table then that's fine or we can also cater for larger weddings and also corporate events.

We've been making these personalised wrappers for rolls of Love Hearts for years now and they still continue to be one of our top sellers.

We've made them for every imaginable event. After all you can have whatever wording you like.

We've always printed the wrappers in different colours upon request, but we've never added this as an option, until today.

Beachy Weddings

As it was raining this morning, I was sat making these...

Little Starfish Name Tags. (can be seen on the website here).
...and completely understanding why so many couples choose to go away to get married.
Me being one of them as I was a Florida bride back in 2005.
I've felt so sorry for so many of my lovely clients with the weather we have had so far this summer.

We cater for many weddings abroad every year and have some lovely bits and pieces for you to take with you and there is no minimum order either.

I can't get enough of making pretty cupcakes.
Yesterday I made a batch and made up my own recipe.
Spiced Pumpkin Latte. Yummy!!!
I love experimenting. I love trying new flavours and using my pipe bag to finish off and add fab frosting.

Testing

 It's been a testing few weeks to say the very least. The pc really chose it's timing well when it decided to die last month, right in the heat of wedding season. Thankfully my hubby is in charge when it comes to the technical side of Funky Fairies and not only has everything automatically backed up but the back ups are also backed up. And thankfully so as the external hide drives also gave up for a few days too.

 Really not funny!!!

 So on top of everything else, the stress of all this and big weddings we are working on plus all the other orders coming through it has been hard going.
This poor little blog has been rather unloved. But I'm happy to say we've kept on top of everything and we have a new pc now and also a new member of staff too to help out over the busy season.

We will be adding a new special offer later this week. (if you want the lollies at the discounted price, now is the time to buy them. Dated Dec 2013 - see here)

We have new items to add to the online shop aswell...cupcake cases, new Christening Invites and some new stationery too.
So do keep an eye out.

Fun Scrapbooking Classes

Something a bit different today. 
Something for those of you with a creative side.

As well as being the owner of Funky Fairies I also scrapbook professionally.
I design for the UK Scrapbooking Magazine SCRAP365.
I also design and work for the American Kit Company Cocoa Daisy.

I teach monthly in various Craft Stores. My classes are messy and fun, experimenting with paints, mists, pretty papers and materials. A great way to be creative and tell stories with your photos too, preserving all your special memories.

We introduced organza bags to the site just the end of last year, I don't know why we didn't have them before. They sell really well and look so pretty.
We have a company make them for us, so can get a huge amount of colours in. If you can't see what you want, just ask.

We also make the mini personalised tags to attach to the little bags.
The butterflies are really popular. You can have what you want printed on the tags and they can be made in any colours.

We can also fill the favour bags for you. This can save you so much time. The bags come ready filled and ready to go.
